Assistant Team Leader Rebar Facility - The Fort Miller Co., Inc.

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. located in Greenwich, NY, has a full time, year round opening for an Assistant Team Leader of our Rebar Facility. The ideal candidate has computer skills and some construction experience, specifically in the areas of concrete and carpentry. Responsibilities of an Assistant Team Leader Rebar Facility: Work closely with the Team Leader - Rebar Facility to:

  • Schedule, coordinate and plan activities for the Rebar team, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency of the department, maintain production and meeting company goals.
  • Ensure that all associates are properly trained in safe work procedures and equipment operation.
  • Support and implement the preventative maintenance system within the Rebar Facility.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the equipment, storage areas, building and adjacent areas.
  • Safely operate all equipment, handling and transporting finished products and raw materials.

Qualifications of our Assistant Team Leader of Rebar Facility include the ability to:

  • Perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the Team Leader - Rebar Facility in his or her absence, including:
  • Interface regularly with all production and production support areas as well as with Production Control and Engineering Services.
  • Maintain daily paperwork, including DSI, creating leadsheets, stock inventory usage, and incoming deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate monthly stock inventory to ensure production goals can be met.
  • Utilize various computer programs to create excel spreadsheets, word documents and manage Microsoft Outlook email. Utilize aSa software for inventory control, materials tracking, scheduling of production, tag generation and shear optimization.
  • Be capable of or learn to safely perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a Rebar Facility Associate, including safely operating all equipment, handling and finished products and raw materials.
  • Perform heavy physical labor.
  • Safely lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Understand common measurements of length.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including overtime and Saturdays on occasion.
